Isn’t it odd that we celebrate Mother’s Day once a year? Mommy’s are the hardest working people on earth and should be recognized everyday. They are the originals ‘front line workers’. They have been doing since the beginning of time. The nature and the nurture of what they do, what they provide and how they do it is awe-inspiring. Cultures all around the world have a few common threads and the job of being a MOM is one of those threads. They are reliable, they are someone you can trust, lean on, look to for support and they provide TRUTH. They accept us for who we are. They provide an inner strength that helps all of us develop in our own way, at our own speed and allows us to be who we are, without feeling bad about it.
Moms are the best teachers. They teach us how to behave, how to engage with others and they do it by leading by example. They teach us the best and most significant lesson there is to learn. “You do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do”.
Moms give us HOPE. They advise and give us the best sense of direction when we are feeling ‘off course’. Moms provide comfort and build confidence when necessary. What is better than a hug from your mom when things are looking bad? There is simply no better medicine than a MOM.
I don’t think it matters what your age is – There is nothing like a MOM. So, don’t think of today as Mother’s Day – Think of everyday as Mother’s Day. If you are lucky enough to still have yours – Call her and let her know how you feel.
Happy Mother’s Day to all.
