In order to really achieve success, you will need to find satisfaction in what you do. Data supports that approximately 65% (give or take) of people that currently work are NOT happy or satisfied with what they do and given that we spend 6, 8, 10 or more hours a day at work, this becomes a frightening stat to deal with. I am a big fan of following your GHI – GUT, HEART and INSTINCTS as almost always, they will push you in the right direction. When you are considering a career, GHI can and should be your best friends. Listen to them – They have something to say.

One of the first questions you want to ask yourself is, what is my PASSION? What is my MISSION? If you have an answer to this, you are ahead of many and being ahead in a competitive environment is a good place to begin. Passion and Mission go together very well. Passion is the fuel in the tank. Mission is the destination and if you combine the two, you have your GPS programmed and ready to hit the road – You have a point of view towards your future.

Satisfaction should come from fulfillment. Happiness should be a bi-product of what you do, where you do it, who you do it for and why you do it. Enjoying what you do will alter the dynamics of your work life. You can arrive and leave with the same smile on your face. No question, some days will fry your brain, but your sense of satisfaction will be better than any meds. Pleasure should induce fulfillment and a feeling of pride. Your effort will feel easier because passion and your mission drive you. Performance is also easier as you are thinking about what you WILL accomplish and how that will lead you to a successful day…..each and every day. Liking what you do puts you in a very healthy space and although you are in the minority – you are in the best possible place, so follow your Gut, your Heart and your Instinct.
