Funny thing about time. It moves quickly and often it gets the best of us. Managing time can be serious business. We all seem to be busy and how frequently do we run out of time? Common practice. Doesn’t matter if we are at work, home or play – Time moves too darn fast. And yet there are times when time can just drag on and on and all you want is for something to just end!
And no matter how we engage our time, once it’s gone – It’s history. It’s behind us. It’s lost and not to be found. To focus on yesterday can waste a lot of time. However, learning from yesterday, focusing on today and tomorrow can be a great use of time.
There are so many ways to measure time. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, years, decades and in the blink of an eye all of this ends up behind us. We can also measure our progress, success and failures by how we invested our time. Were we smart about it? Were we strategic about it? Did we maximize time? Did we leverage it and achieve the outcome we hoped for? All of these are our time metrics that get us from one place to another and if managed with common sense and self-control, typically we will see what a ‘good use of time’ can provide for us and those we engage with. You get 24 hours in a day – What are you going to do with them?
Don’t be busy – Be productive.
