We all have ‘things’ that we are afraid of. Fear comes in so many shapes and sizes. It can rear its ugly head at any time and sometimes we can be so paralyzed by fear, it sets off our internal alarm that freezes our brain. It prevents us from moving forward. Fear can cause anxiety, an uneasy feeling, and it will get your nerves cooking. It’s one of the most unpleasant emotions that we deal with, and we ALL have them.

Fear of the unknown, fear of evolving, fear of initiating something, fear of improving, fear of accelerating, fear of pushing forward, fear of change, fear of flying, heights, commitment, separation, fear of the dark, fear of being alone, fear of ghosts and one that always jumps to the front of the line, fear of FAILURE. There are so many things that will spook us.

So, what can you do about the nasty, and at times, silly things that put us in that odd and awkward position?

We confront them. We meet them with conviction. We challenge ourselves. We stand up, stare these fears in the eye and attack them before they assault us. Get your defense mechanisms in the right place and kick that FEAR in the butt and take charge.

I’m not saying it’s easy. It’s not. But better for us to manage our fear and not let them manage us.
