What drives you? If it’s practical – it’s probably safe and there is something to be said for that. There’s nothing wrong with security, the feeling of being protected and having a shelter that comforts you. A real comfort zone is for many, the best place to be.

Passion has more risk. Passion is a strong word with deep meaning. If you can drive your professional life with passion – you are a very fortunate person. Passion is indicative of fire and energy. It’s attached to an obsession that drives commitment.

Passion is the pilot – the captain of the ship. The enthusiasm that comes with passion is also the reward. The risk is where courage allows you to really embrace opportunity. Don’t be afraid of that.

If that’s where your head is, than grab it and give it a good squeeze.

Practicality is a passenger seat driver, or the co-pilot. Again, I emphasize, it’s not a bad place to be. Sometimes it’s good to be the passenger, sit back and enjoy the ride.

It’s easier to take in the sights.

Both passion and practicality present excellent choices. There is function. There is sensible, reasonable, realistic, simple and complex. Pick a choice – make it logical.

Make sure it fits you.

What will give you the best value? What suits who you are? What presents an advantage and allows you the room to grow and more than anything else – move forward?

What drives you?
