In life, we all make CHOICES. And it begins early too. You can be an infant in a highchair and your mom or dad might put different foods on the table and you get to make a choice. You will, of course taste them and if it has no appeal, you will move on – A CHOICE!! A very liberating experience.
Fast forward and now you are in middle school – What instrument or sport do you want to play? More opportunities to make CHOICES. And before you know it, you’re thinking about a university experience so you will have to research, select some schools, apply, and make more choices. What will you major in? What kind of career path do you think you will want to pursue? Oh no…. more choices. It’s all good because it represents both personal and professional growth and development.
Graduation comes quickly and then you are once again presented with an opportunity to make choices. And when you finally land a job, you will settle in, find your rhythm, learn, increase your sense of awareness, increase, and improve your skills and before you know it – You will consider your ‘NEXT’. Will you stay and move up the ranks or will you move on?
CHOICE is all about making DECISIONS. It’s about taking a course of action. Choice represents POSSIBILITIES, OPTIONS, PREFERENCE, SELECTION, OPPORTUNITY, and SOLUTIONS.
It’s a critical part of our self-development, and every one of the choices that you make shapes your experiences and brings you to where you are in your life. One of the great things about having the power to choose is that if you don’t like the place, you are in your life right now, you can change it!
