Today we can’t function without a ‘plan’ and with the plan comes a ‘workflow’.

Me, personally, I’m a fan of the plan. I think it’s smart to layout the groundwork before you get started. Develop a system with which you can move it forward. Assemble all the moving parts and break out the oilcan. One by one begin to tool together all those moving parts. Get the team in place. Have them understand what the responsibilities are. Delegate and choose wisely. Each moving part impacts the other. In order to complete the mission, the PLAN needs to be well thought and in tact.

Having a plan removes much of the doubt and confusion. It eliminates much of the unknown. Anticipation should be a part of the plan. Have a vision of the end product. See it complete and then pull it apart, piece-by-piece. Now you have a roadmap in front of you. With clear intent, take the team and re-assemble it.

The plan requires concept. It begins with an idea that has been reviewed carefully. Place the objectives in front of everyone so they can be considered and perceived with solutions and results. This is the workflow – the layers and players. Sometimes it can get political, but everybody has to be involved. It can slow the workflow down, but again, everyone has a purpose and if they have any significance, their inclusion can make the difference of success and success on schedule.
