Grit is such a cool and colorful word. It represents a variety of things. Stamina, persistence, perseverance, passion to reach our GOALS. Those that exhibit GRIT typically have an unwavering sense of commitment that maintains a deep interest, driven by PURPOSE to reach goals, no matter what type of resistance you face. Grit tells us to look at that resistance, those obstacles and meet them head-on. Recognize the opposition for what it is; a temporary roadblock, an inconvenience, a snag, a complication, a PROBLEM. The problem with problems is only due to the ‘grit level’ we have…..or don’t have. The fastest way to solve the problem is to find a solution. The idea that we have something in front of us that is difficult to achieve or accomplish will always be a problem. Recognizing a problem and finding a solution takes GRIT. Results don’t always come easy. Clarity is necessary to smooth some of this out. Consider what’s in front of you and see it as a process, a puzzle and begin to use your grit to solve it. If you let lack of confidence manage this, it can and will dilute your sense of GRIT, and although it can take time, it can be exhausting, it can create anxiety, add uncertainty and doubt, GRIT should always drive us to the solution, the answer, the result the OUTCOME.
