May is fast approaching and there will be many NEW JOB HUNTERS on the market as we wind down yet another ACADEMIC year and the GRADUATES hit the streets looking for or ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. They begin to manage the threshold from CLASSROOM to CAREER.

For those fortunate enough to already have secured a Job – Kudos to you all and congratulations. This is a very meaningful transition and one that you have all EARNED. Hard work is a small price to pay because you have INVESTED in yourself, developed a new awareness, a new level of maturity and growth and you are about to turn the page. You will put all that you have learned from the classroom, internships, summer jobs, research and hopefully passion into a PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE. You have a job before you graduate. Recognize what you have accomplished and carry it through to your ‘NEXT’.

And for those that are still looking. Your ‘NEXT’ is out there – We just have to find it. We all have our own technique that gets us from A to Z and the PROCESS can be frustrating. As many of you know, my theory on this is simple: 2+2=4, but so does 3+1. Find your four and get there.

If you don’t have a job or an OPPORTUNITY lined up before you graduate, do not fear. Do not worry. It is not as bleak as you might think. There is still work to be done and you will have to do it to secure something that will get your CAREER in motion.

Continue using all your RESOURCES and in time, things will fall into place. I promise if you stay committed, do the research, stay PROACTIVE, the needle in the haystack will pop right out and stab you in the most delightful way.
