With rare exceptions – an open mind will always open a door. The significance of opening one door – inevitably it opens another. The idea is to keep your mind unlocked so that as you enter each new door, you remain objective and allow yourself an opportunity to navigate which way to turn as you enter. You meet people and encounter different scenarios as you move through the entrance – now what do we do as we move forward?

An open mind should support some latitude in your decision making. It keeps us flexible and allows us a chance to modify the plan. We take time to process what’s inside these doors and evaluate what makes the most sense. Think it through and make a decision. That’s all you can do. Sometimes, we choose the wrong door.

Personally, I don’t take issue with that, as you can always back out and look for another door. What’s the worst that can happen? Lose some time and hopefully learn something valuable which makes the next open door a little easier to enter. Mistakes teach us that we aren’t perfect. That’s the best way to improve. Choose the wrong door from time to time. The key is to keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to walk through the next door.

There is always a net take away – Always something to learn from each door we push through. What makes it exciting as we walk this path is the discovery that lies ahead. Ultimately, we look for the open doors that align us with success.

To be truly successful, we need to be patient, understand that it takes time, manage the time effectively and look for the best route of passage. The route, the journey is what counts – not the destination. We build substance from that journey.
