As I was talking to a colleague today, she mentioned how she needs to be busy but not with ‘busywork’. She mentioned how she “hates” mindless tasks. Personally, I am not good at sitting still and find that being busy is a very good thing. I enjoy the stuff that requires real thought, focus and the ability to do something meaningful.

Something that centers me, allows me a chance to be productive, make things happen and get things done. However, I embrace the opportunities to ‘chill’ also. Isn’t that how it should be? Seems to me, everything in moderation is a fair way to go. Why not do your job at full speed and manage it with all cylindars fired and ready to go.

After all, if you can’t do ‘it’ at 100% – Why bother? Invest your time wisely. Time is a precious commodity. It’s yours therefore you have all the power to manage it as you see fit. Authorize yourself to take charge of your time and utilize it in the best most effective way you can. And when you are done for the day, consider finding the balance and treat yourself to something mindless. It’s a great recipe for success and life.
