From the time we are elementary students, we learn about the 5 senses and it’s something that most of us remember forever. See, hear, smell, taste and touch. As I have aged and continue to work with young people on career development, I have come to recognize a sixth sense that should always play a role in all our lives. COMMON SENSE. You know, the basic, pragmatic judgement tool that exhibits simple understanding that allows all of us to reason things out and make informed and quality DECISIONS. How will stuff impact us, our families, our colleagues, our clients and our ability to move forward? It’s typically driven by COMMON SENSE. CS allows us the opportunity to reason, to consider, to review and reflect, a chance to evaluate what’s in front of us. What are the pros and cons? What is the outcome? How will your decision impact not only you but the others that surround you at work and at home? Observe and embrace what’s in front of you. Let that provide the baseline and then begin to reach for a sensible conclusion. Intelligence, awareness – All logical. It can make SENSE. Common Sense represents doing the right thing because it’s the right thing to do. As we all look to elevate our lives, be uncommon and use COMMON SENSE.
