When we are in the midst of any crisis, our brains often push the ‘auto pilot’ alarm button that creates a sense of panic, anxiety, fright and sometimes hysteria. It’s difficult to step outside of ourselves and take an objective look at what’s going on at that moment.  However, that’s probably the best thing you can do – Remove yourself, let go, process the situation, break down the critical points and look for the moment of truth. And at that time, you can really take action and find a meaningful solution. I deal with people of all ages, demographics and professional categories on a daily basis and when a client, whether it’s a student, a mid or senior level executive is knee deep in career transition, often the ‘go-to’ feeling is HOLY CRAP, what am I going to do?

It all comes down to ATTITUDE. If your head is in a good place, chances are the crisis, whatever it might be, will be much easier to manage. If your head is in a bad place, well guess what, so is everything else. With rare exception, it’s completely up to you how this will play out. Only you can drive the attitude. Get your mind right first and then take it all in. See things as they are and figure it out. Bad attitude is like trash – You gotta take it out.
