All my clients are in some form of TRANSITION and the common thread for all of them is some level of STRESS. Any type of life adjustment can cause your stress level to jump. Reorganizing what you do, how you do it, who you do it for can be very unsettling and if not managed well, it will beat and defeat you in a New York Minute. The secret sauce is to manage your change. If you let it manage you, you lose. Change management can be, for many an overwhelming experience.
And as natural as this is, stress is a very powerful word and an even more powerful experience to manage. Transition and change are a good reason to feel stress. Conversely, if managed well, CHANGE and TRANSITION can be a very exciting experience. Either it was forced on you or you made the choice – Don’t run from it – Embrace it! Change offers an opportunity for growth.
Change can represent PROGRESS.
We all have a different way to manage and measure STRESS, but at the end of the day, it’s in your hands (and head) to control and organize. Don’t let the stress factor get in your way. If you do, that’s exactly what it will do – Get in your way!
Your SRESS is your RESPONSIBILITY. Take the lead. Look at your change. What NEEDS to be done? What’s the best approach? What are the steps you should take first? Who’s in charge?
You are. And if you are not in charge, that’s when the transition, the change turns into stress. Stress can cause anxiety, make you nervous, slow down your ability to be productive and ultimately, stress can mess with your SUCCESS. We live in a world of constant motion and change. When you are feeling stress, grab it, understand it, stare it down, kick it’s you know what and figure it out.
