All day, we are confronted with the chance to make choices. Decisions, decisions, decisions…. Door #1, 2 or 3 – what do we do? How do we know what makes the most and the best sense?
If we have enough information, we can process, think it through and hopefully, based on that information, make an intelligent decision and move on.
However…..sometimes, we just don’t have enough information and we have to rely on our gut. What are you instinctively thinking? What is the little voice inside your head telling you?
I am a ‘gut-truster’ – I like relying on that little voice in my head. I think that second brain is often smarter than my first brain. The first brain thinks too much and gets in the way.
There are little signals or what I call ‘identifiers’ that can help define the moment, offer an abstract clarity that will take your intuitions by the hand and lead them down the right path.
These identifiers are subtle things right in front of you. They are obvious, within reach, but not always easy to read because they are so close. Their significance easily gets passed by. See them, learn to recognize and believe in them.
Take a shot. Make the choice. Have the courage to do it and find success in the process. Know that the success isn’t based on that process alone, but the added value that comes from making a good judgment call, finding resolution, being committed and finding resolution.
Be a ‘gut-truster’.
