Ideas come and go. They flow through our brains like a brisk mountain stream. They travel quickly and if we don’t stop, take note of them, they will disappear as fast as they knocked on the door of your brain. An ‘IDEA’ is high speed and it’s nimble. An idea can be sudden. It can be transient, and, in a flash, it’s lost forever in the timetable that dictates our day.
Frustrating but typical for many of us. I know if I don’t write stuff down, in a heartbeat, that thought, that IDEA is lost forever.
We are all juggling a variety of things and managing it can be all consuming, so it’s not difficult to understand why and how we lose sight of the fun and passing notions that float in and out of our head.
If you can remember the IDEA, that’s the easy part. What makes an idea challenging is not the concept, the purpose, the presumption, the objective, the feeling it might provide; No, it’s the EXECUTION that counts. That’s where the rubber meets the road. Ideas come and they go. If you are smart enough to write it down or you are blessed with the recall to remember than the next step is how will you bring the IDEA to life?
Implementation, carrying the idea forward and making it into something meaningful is where the difficulty is. That accomplishment is where the rewards are. Will it make an impact? Will it be relevant? Will people care? Will you care? How can you measure the outcome?
Embrace your creativity. Embrace your strengths. Identify resources necessary to bring the IDEA to life. And above all, you will have to drive the idea to fruition.
Not sure how to define perfection, but I think if you have an idea worth considering, even if it’s not successful but you give it your all, and make it happen, then you have redefined perfection and that’s a great IDEA.
