We experience CHOICE every day. What will I have for breakfast today? What will I wear? Should I take the expressway to work or maybe I’ll stay on the local roads? The forecast says rain, should I take my umbrella? These are the easy CHOICES to deal with and we typically gloss over these things quickly because as significant as they may seem at that moment – They are insignificant as you begin to consider some of the big things going on in your day-to-day.

Selection, decision, possibilities, options, alternatives – All of these cause us to stop and think about what we should do, what we must do, what we’re required to do, what’s necessary to do, what feel compelled to do, what are we obligated to do and most importantly, what will the CONSEQUENCES be based on the CHOICES made? How will it impact you and others that you engage with? What will the net takeaway be? Will it be good? Will it make a difference? Will it help? Will it Hurt?

Oh, how making CHOICES can really get in the way. For some, making the decision to move anything forward can be paralyzing. It can cause some of us to just freak out. But we all have a responsibility to ourselves and to others to make choices. A parent makes choices on behalf of their children and although parents do it with the best intentions, sometimes those choices backfire and cause issue. We do the BEST we can. Politicians make choices on our behalf – How can you please everybody? You can’t so we analyze what they do, what they are thinking and often, we have NO CHOICE but to accept their agenda.

Being informed, doing research helps the process of making choices. Some of us think from the gut and process in the brain. Instinct and intuition can drive choice. Either way, CHOICE is part of our life every single day. It requires thought, conviction, belief, trust, a sense of anticipation, fear, hope, POSSIBILITY, INTENTION, PURPOSE and among other things, INTROSPECTION.

Don’t minimize CHOICE. It will impact, affect, and influence you, your family, your colleagues, your teammates, your company, and all choices do have an OUTCOME. Remember, it’s your CHOICE.
