Sometimes, it’s as simple as utilizing good old common sense, with a dash of SELF-CONTROL. When the stuff hits the fan, and we all have those days, it helps to be calm, look for clarity, maintain your poise and gear up your sense-of-self and manage things. You must take control. If you let that ‘noise’ get in your way, that’s exactly what it will do – GET IN YOUR WAY. The last thing you want to do when stuff begins to fly off the fan is freakout. Take a pause. Take a deep breath. Create an intermission. Hesitate and take an assessment break, and find your Yoda so instead of FREAKOUT, you FIGURE IT OUT.

When the stuff does hit the fan, it usually represents something bad, something chaotic, a problem which only requires one thing: a SOLUTION. Whatever comes your way, be smart, be strategic, be patient, and take the lead. Define the issue. What resources will you lean into for resolution. Maybe we can break it down into a micro-manageable process and focus on what we can control and not waste a ton of energy on the things we cannot control. Hit the Fan allows all of us an opportunity to test ourselves, be a leader, and act. Embrace the fan – Ducking and deflecting is temporary and won’t accomplish anything.
