Time: I think we take it for granted. It runs our lives.

In fact, I think we are like clocks.  We are beautifully constructed and built for precision.

We have all these moving parts that maintain forward motion.

We set an alarm clock, choose a specific TIME and begin our day. We scan the same clock and decide it’s TIME to end the day.

We pay close attention to it throughout the day and yet we don’t fully process its significance. It partially registers. How often have you looked at your watch, clock and now mobile device to check the time and several minutes later – you do it again. With exception, we don’t really pay attention.

Ever watched a sporting event – they monitor a clock.

I am and have always been a stickler about time. I like to manage it effectively. Most people that work with me know I can get more than 60 minutes into 1 hour. I’m good at it. I’m not a fan of multi-tasking. I think it dilutes the process of getting things done. I prefer that we stay on task. Finish something and move on to the next.

We get paid for TIME. There is an investment in TIME. We measure success with TIME. We talk about space and TIME. We anticipate because we are ‘ahead of TIME’.

TIME places us in a past tense and in the future tense. We project TIME. We occupy TIME. We pass TIME. We spend time. We consume TIME.

We use TIME all day and still take it for granted. Not smart as it passes all too quickly and has a nasty habit of getting the best of us, which leads me to my final thought.

One of the most productive things we can do with time, if done with purpose is waste TIME. Make time for yourself – do something to feed your head from TIME to TIME.

Have a great weekend.
