Think about any new brand, product or service and how the branding companies or advertising agencies launch them. They do a lot of research and get a solid understanding of the marketplace. This provides very good insight and that becomes the foundation to initiate the launch.
When you are looking for a job, a career change or it’s your first time out of the gate, make no mistake, you are the BRAND, the PRODUCT, and the SERVICE and if you do not research with purpose you will slow the entire process down or possibly fail to find that next big opportunity.
We all have resources that can help us. Friends, colleagues, career coaches, past employers, professors, family members are all to be considered valuable assets and if managed efficiently, they will provide you with information, connections and any one of those can lead to the next big opportunity. The best resource you have is YOU. Not because who you know, but who they know. Everybody knows someone that can possibly help you find a job or at least help drive you closer to something that will produce success.
Think about all your resources. Who you know, your skills, your talent, your drive, your passion, your sense of time management, your resume, your presentation skills and the ability to coordinate all of them and ORGANIZE.
